 We are Hiring !

Hydraulic Fitter / Technician

When hydraulics stop, everything stops. you’re the one they call.

About Us

Toowoomba Bearings & Hydraulics is a long-standing, locally owned trade business servicing the darling downs and beyond.

We supply bearings, hydraulics and industrial components — and we don’t just sell parts. we fix problems.

Our hydraulics division includes a fully equipped rebuild workshop and field service vehicles supporting agriculture, mining, construction, earthmoving and industrial customers when downtime isn’t an option.

Quality, safety and doing the job properly matter here — because our customers rely on their gear to make a living.

About the Role

As a hydraulic fitter / technician, you’ll be hands-on repairing, rebuilding and fault-finding hydraulic systems — both in the workshop and out in the field.

This role suits someone who enjoys variety: strip-and-assess work, breakdowns, diagnostics, rebuilds and customer problem-solving.

You’ll be trusted to work independently, represent the business professionally, and deliver reliable outcomes every time.

What You'll be Doing

  • diagnose, repair and rebuild hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors and valves

  • fault-find hydraulic systems and component failures

  • carry out workshop rebuilds using our lathe, mill, keyway machine and welding equipment

  • attend field service breakdowns using a fully equipped service vehicle

  • deliver accurate, high-quality repairs with minimal rework

  • communicate clearly with customers about faults, solutions and timelines

  • maintain clean, safe and organised work areas

  • follow all safety procedures, especially around high-pressure systems

About You

You’re a practical hydraulic fitter who:

  • hands-on experience in hydraulic repair and fault diagnosis

  • understands cylinders, pumps, motors and control valves inside out

  • ideally holds a fitter trade background (or equivalent experience)

  • can work unsupervised and take ownership of jobs

  • communicates well with customers and teammates

  • takes pride in clean work, correct tolerances and doing it once — properly

What You'll Get

  • competitive salary aligned to skill and experience

  • performance and sales-based bonuses

  • company service vehicle, phone and laptop

  • uniforms supplied

  • workshop facilities most fitters wish they had

  • long-term stability with a respected local business

  • genuine opportunity to grow as the hydraulics division grows
