Hydraulics Operations Manager
Big Pressure. Big Gear. Big Responsibility.
this one’s for real operators.
About Us
Toowoomba Bearings & Hydraulics is a long-standing, locally owned trade business servicing the darling downs and beyond.
We work where downtime hurts — agriculture, mining, transport, civil and industrial.
Our hydraulics division runs a full rebuild workshop plus the 1300 Hose Guys Van Mobile Service, supporting breakdowns in paddocks, pits, highways and workshops.
No fluff. No shortcuts.
We do the job properly — because our customers rely on it.
The Role
As hydraulics operations manager, you own the hydraulics division end-to-end.
This is not a desk role.
You lead the workshop and mobile hose service, set the pace, solve problems, and make sure every repair, rebuild and call-out meets our standards for safety, turnaround and workmanship.
You’re the link between the counter, the workshop, the hose vans and management — keeping jobs flowing, margins protected and customers looked after.
What You'll Own
● Lead the hydraulics workshop + 1300 Hose Guys Van Operations
● Prioritise urgent jobs and control turnaround times
● Oversee complex repairs, rebuilds and testing
● Coordinate mobile hose call-outs and lift first-time-fix rates
● Be the senior technical contact for customers
● Coach and lead hydraulics techs and hose van operators
● Keep quoting, job cards, labour and parts tight and accurate
● Maintain safety, compliance and workshop discipline
Ideally, About you
You’re a senior hydraulics operator or leader who:
● has strong hands-on experience with hydraulic repairs & rebuilds
● understands workshop pressure and mobile breakdown reality
● can lead tradespeople without ego, but with authority
● balances quality, speed and margin without cutting corners
● takes safety seriously — especially high-pressure systems
Paperwork doesn’t scare you.
Tools don’t either.
What you’ll get
● senior leadership role in a respected regional trade business
● autonomy to run the hydraulics division properly
● backing from ownership who value good operators
● competitive salary aligned to responsibility and performance
● long-term stability in a no-nonsense business
You will have a genuine opportunity to grow with the business, so you must have the drive to grow within the role.
